I am a high school senior that has been working two jobs for the past two years trying to save money to buy a car. With all that hard-earned cash, I do not want to just go and spend it on the first car I see…I want a reliable var that will get me to school,work, and college next year. I looked at a 1998 Volkswagen jetta a few days ago and I really liked it. My mother works with the owner and so trusts him. The car has 94k miles on it and is in great condition besides a few catches…It needs a new inspection sticker next month and i fear the tires won’t pass. In addition, one of the power windows do not work. Besides that, the mechanic that looked at it for me said it was in good condition. It was selling for $3000 but he accepted my offer of $2300 with one catch, I need to let him know by tonight……
I am not sure whether I should buy this car, or pass it up and go to a local dealership and look. There is a saturn for sale at the dealership for $3200 that I like but it has 157k miles on it and is much more expensive. I really like the jetta and feel it is in good condition, but it does not have the benefit of warranties or guaranteed satisfaction/free inspection like the dealership does. What should I do???

i found a used/pre-owned Acura that i am interested in purchasing, sitting in the lot of a local dealership. It is 6 years old, has a little over 60K miles on its odometer, and looks to be in fair condition. the one thing that allured me to it at first was the price they put up on the dealer’s website. the current price is a REDUCED from the original which should have been closer to blue book value. however, the paper/sticker posted up on the side window indicates that it is being sold AS-IS with NO WARRANTY. feeling obligated to check its vehicle history report on carfax.com using the vehicle id # from the windshield, the report came out to check out fine for all the major checkpoints regarding its past, but what has me worried is the fact that it was owned by two separate owners. it was sold at 50K, bought again by another, then sold once again to be where it is now. the first owner used it in Illinois, but owner # 2 drove it to New York. curiously, it ended up back here in illinois.

i just bought the car and was only told that it sat around alot the oil change sticker on the front window says to change in 300 more miles but im wondering if i should change it now since its been sitting for who know how long plus some grime fell (1 pinch guessimation) into the dipstick hole.

ps – right now car has synthetic oil in it.

Just had an accident. Someone rear-ended me, and it bent my frame, broke some lights that were brand new, messed up my bumper totally also, and also, bent in my trunk lid, so now the light is on.
And yeah, the person that hit me made my car fly at someone elses car and there is also damage at the front bumper.

I wanted to know if I should go on ahead and get an auto body shop to give me an expensive appraisal for all the work to be done to my car to get it repaired.

Well, I am anyways, but what else should I dooo… hint hint wink wink..?

Wheel wells painted
Stickers removed

So tell me, what else would you do to add value to their “Estimated Value”

Someone at my work took window chalk to this girls car window and wrote “GO OBAMA” because she has a MCCAIN sticker on her car. She thinks it is me because i have an OBAMA sticker on my car, and she keeps talking about me and how she is going to sue me if she finds proof it was me. And i mean it is all through out the day that i hear her talking about me and she is now very rude too me. The manager will not do anything because they are “BUDDY BUDDY” so what should i do about this? I am tired of being harassed for something i did not do.

i have an old ‘77 mustang. i ripped out all the fabric on the interior roof of the car because it was tearing apart from driving with the window open (no ac). i was thinking about doing a collage of bumper stickers, pictures, stickers, etc instead of getting it fixed at a place. but the metal gets pretty hot here when the temp. gets up into the 100s, and the sticky stuff on stickers would probably melt. so, i was thinking of using either gorrilla glue or just plain old superglue. how do you think those would do?? do you think it would give off any fumes when it gets too hot? could it be dangerous? any suggestions will help. thanks.

Does it really matter what car u put them on? i have seen a lot of them on JDM cars, but i have seen them on euro cars too and just about any others you can think of? im thinking of getting one and putting it on my rear window like on the bottom left or right maybe..i have a 3g eclipse 2001, soo does it really matter who puts them on?

Also, I was parked in a handicap parking space as well as I stay in a handicap unit because my husband is handicap. Now the towing co is saying that because we didn’t have a sticker nor was my hadicap plaque was showing in the window, they had to tow the car. We were given a parking sticker today when the apt. realized that we didn’t get one. now whose responsilbe for the towing fee? If I’m not in the wrong then who can I talk to to get my money back for the towing fee and loss wages for today?
I just moved here exactly two weeks ago. I have never stayed in a apartment before so I really didn’t know if I needed a sticker or not. Not only that, but the lady in the office admitted that she forgot to give me a sticker. I’m not trying to pass the blame to anybody else but it’s there responsiblity to make sure that every person that lives in this complex gets a parking sticker. I can see if I’ve been here 1-2 yrs but 2 weeks come on and give me a little credit.
The first thing that I did was look over the parking part of the lease. It is not stated in the lease that I need a parking sticker. That’s what me and the lady in the office was going over this morning and she realized the samething that it not stated in the lease. The office manager said that the reason why it’s not stated is because they just started this two months ago when the security gate stop working. Now I ask again, am I still responsible for the towing fee?
